Orig. published in the 1940s, this "new" version of this title introduced some new friends, though the characters were still all white, middle class, from nuclear families, fulfilling traditional gender roles. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1951, in 192 pages, illustrated throughout, this hardcover octavo has orange cloth-covered boards colorfully decorated on the front cover in red, brown, & white. Condition is VG: exceptionally clean & bright inside, with light soil & darkening to outside page edges. Binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages white & unmarked. Modest rubbing to extremities, heaviest at both ends of spine & all corners. Looks like a partially erased set of initials to front cover just to the right of the red title box.
