Print on Demand. This book examines the transcendentalist movement and its proponents throughout New England, whose ideals and pursuits shaped American literature, philosophy, and artistic expression in the 19th century. The author explores the movement's roots in 18th-century Romanticism and traces its evolution through essays, poetry, and the lives of central figures like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau.
