For three years, Aurelia, the owner of a London bookshop, has guarded an extraordinary secret. Each night, when the clock strikes midnight, her store comes alive with characters straight from the pages of novels by Austen, Brontë, and Dickens. Even with her fiancé, Oliver, living upstairs, Aurelia has managed to sneak to her shop each night without raising a single suspicion.
But when her 14-year-old niece arrives for a summer holiday, Aurelia may have underestimated a teenage girl’s uncanny ability to see through her secrets and stumble into a few mysteries of her own. And when Oliver learns about the life Aurelia’s been hiding, she must find a way to rescue her wedding while protecting the legacy of her family’s bookshop.
Filled with all the wit and charm readers have come to expect, A New Chapter at Midnight blends classic literature, sweet romance, and a touch of magic into a bewitching read.
