By Charles Bell and printed in Washington, D.C. by Duff Green. 1833, 230 pp, 9 x 5.75”, 8vo, full leather hardcover. In good condition, with rubbing and wear to boards. Minor chipping to label on spine. Hinges remain in good condition with minor wear and text block remains bound well. Occasional marginalia. Includes 10 plates of the human body in overall good condition. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce medical work about the nervous system of the human body, nicely illustrated with plates for reference. By Charles Bell (1774-1832), a Scottish scientist whose extensively documented the nerves and first described what would become known as Bell’s Palsy.
