The Elements Anthologies bring together genre authors and ask them to do something different: write a story outside of their normal genre. The tension this creates, the inevitable creep of their chosen genre into the genre of the anthology, is where the magic happens.
Dark shadows, quiet savagery, and style collide as twenty-one genre authors each take their turn at the perfect crime.
In Bone Deep, a heartbroken young man seeks justice for his lost love, with the aid of a ghostly harp that plays what the dead cannot speak.
In Proprietary Measures, a desperate woman enlists a gentleman thief to help orchestrate the perfect murder… her own.
In The Last Roll of the Dice, an aging veteran steps outside the law he once served, determined to protect the neighbourhood he can no longer trust the system to save.
And in The Case of the High-Heeled Snowbirds, even a seasoned investigator learns that first appearances are as deceptive as any well-planned alibi.
The Righteous, the Rogues, and the Wronged all have their stories to tell.
Welcome to Nefariam: The Element of Crime, where every truth has a cost, and every crime leaves a trace.
