Pooping can be one of the hardest parts of potty training for both toddlers and adults.
Some toddlers hold it in, hide, wait too long, or do not know how to tell a grown-up they need to poop.
I Need to Poop! offers a simple, humorous, and encouraging way to help children recognize their body cues and speak up about pooping.
Written for toddlers ages 2 to 4, this gentle potty-training book uses affirmations, playful humor, repetition, and relatable everyday moments to help little ones listen to their bodies, say “I need to poop,” and feel proud when they use the potty.
Toddlers learn that pooping is something everybody does, including teachers and superheroes, and that saying “I need to poop!” is brave, helpful, and okay.
Among other things, children will learn to:
- Recognize the feeling that poop is coming
- Ask to be excused instead of holding it in
- Ask for help from grown-ups and teachers
- Sit on the potty until they are all done
- Wash their hands and try again after accidents
With funny read-aloud lines such as “I am a potty magician. I make my poop go poof!” and reassuring affirmations like “Sometimes poop gets in my undies. I can try again,” this potty book helps make potty training feel less stressful, without fear or shame.
Suitable for home, daycare, preschool, and early learning settings, I Need to Poop! is a helpful toddler potty book for families working through poop accidents, potty refusal, body cues, and bathroom habits.
If you are looking for a useful, funny read-aloud that helps toddlers use the potty, pay attention to body cues, and express their needs, this book is a perfect choice.
