Issued in a wood slipcase. Screw-fastened aluminum binding for text and back cover. Brown paper front cover, rigid brushed aluminum back cover, [36] pp., profusely illustrated in color and bw. DVD-ROM included, with highlights from the collection and commentary by the collector. Astounding packaging. Includes article reprinted from the Wall Street journal, Oct. 7, 2005. "From daguerreotypes to digital imaging, from entertainment to espionage, the Naylor collection traces the profound and pervasive influence of photography on all human endeavor." Foreword by & signature of Jack Naylor. The estimated 30,000 items include cameras, images, photographic technology, and associated ephemera as well as Naylor's extensive espionage collection. Chapter headings include: Megaletoscopio, the Earliest photography; the Naylor espionage collection; Important photographers and photographs; Edward Sheriff Curtis (1868-1952) from original glass plates; and so much more. Catalogue created by Mr. Naylor to send to prospective buyers. He hoped to sell the collection to a buy who would keep it intact, according to the included Wall Street Journal article. Near Fine. Mullen Books maintains a very active computerized inventory which grows by 2-300 titles per week. Our specialties include the Humanities, with an emphasis on Art, Architecture, Photography, Decorative Arts, History, as well as Periodicals related to those areas. We have very rare as well as fairly common titles. Current inventory is approximately 79,000 titles. We have about 1000' of backlog in our specialties numbering over 30,000 items (including 20,000+ smaller and ephemeral catalogues devoted to individual artist exhibitions). Current stock occupies over 2.3 miles of shelving. We are active buyers as well as very active sellers, and supply entire reference libraries as well as individual titles. We ship books almost everywhere, with the exception of China due to restrictions. Our website mullenbooks.com maintains our entire database of over 150,000 titles dynamically, so you can submit "wants" for books which are listed, but not currently in-stock. It is a major research tool. Despite what Google may indicate, we are only open to visitors by appointment, as our schedules are dynamic depending upon the needs of our valued employees.
