Hardcover; 1905 printing of a 1898 copyright; with 48 plates in color photography, reproductions of the butterflies in the author's collection, and many text illustrations presenting most of the species found in the United States. Fading and scuffing to exterior; cloth wearing at edges of cover and especially at spine; binding reinforced; moisture marks at top corner of first 80 pages, but text is not affected; gilt at top outside edges of pages; a few loose pages which are a bit ragged at edges; otherwise contents in fair condition with clean text.
