This 7.75 x 10.75 inch maroon cloth covered hardback map case by the National Geographic Society is in fine condition. This item is a Society-issued case to hold the individual maps that were published and came with the separate issues. This case has ten separate pockets inside holding sixteen individual maps from the early 1940's and into the 1950's. The case itself is again in fine condition with the maroon cloth showing virtually no wear or damage and with the gilt lettering and design on front panel and spine bright and clean. The interior pockets show just a touch of wear to the front top and bottom corners but really the entire case is in fine condition with the 16 folded maps also pristine - - with a few of the maps being North America ( May 1942), Africa and the Arabian Peninsula ( March 1950), Viet Nam (January 1965), South America ( October 1950), Australia ( March 1948), Europe and the Neat East (June 1949), the United States of America (June 1951), Bible Lands (December 1946), The World (December 1943), Central Washington District of Columbia (September 1948), and others.
