Octavo, two volumes, xxxvi (last one the original errata), 452 pages; and [vi] (last one the original errata), viii, 637 pages with several illustrations and a map plus 15 plates (2 folding), a folding map and a tipped-in limitation slip. Colour-pictorial cloth; edges slightly marked; leading margin of two consecutive leaves in the second volume lightly creased; bottom inside corner of the first half of the textblock of the first volume slightly bumped (clearly before it was bound, as the cover is undamaged); two tiny marks to the verso of the first front free endpaper; an excellent set. Number 92 of only 125 sets of the subscriber's edition, 'hand-bound, with pictorial covers and endpapers designed by Stephen Bowers'. The introduction by Marsden Hordern (21 pages) and the bibliographical note by Paul Brunton (6 pages) are new to this edition. [2 items].
