Print on Demand. This book details the author's radical conversion from Roman Catholicism to Christianity in the 19th century. The author, a former monastic priest, reveals the hypocrisy and wrongdoing he witnessed within the Catholic Church, particularly in New Orleans. The text includes firsthand accounts of the author's struggles, including a legal battle against two Catholic priests accused of adultery and perjury. The author also delves into the deeper theological differences between Catholicism and Christianity, exploring themes of grace, sin, and the role of religious leaders. Through the author's compelling narrative, this book provides a rich historical perspective and challenges readers to question religious authority and embrace a more authentic faith. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

In publishing the subsequent narrative of my conversion from Romanism to Christianity, I feel utterly unable to give expression to my feelings, when I reflect upon the deep importance of the subject which I am about to lay before the public. It is a subject which comes home to the "business and the bosoms" of mankind. It is not confined to me as the individual concerned; it visits every circle, from the highest to the lowest, it alarms the very heart of the community, and interests all the friends of humanity and religion.
In the first place, my object is to show the reader the motives by which I am actuated in abjuring the tenets of the Church of Rome.
Secondly, I will prove Mr. Mullon, a Popish priest of New Orleans, to have been guilty of perjury; this charge I will sustain by publishing a letter written by Athans. Ford, Esq., and signed by several gentlemen of Philadelphia; also by publishing the certificate of my marriage, which he (priest Mullon) swore I had forged.
