Print on Demand. This book provides a historical context of the native or Transkeian Territories of South Africa, from pre-colonial times right up until the end of the 19th century. The author chronicles events in the country from the perspective of a colonist, providing a unique insight into the interactions between Europeans and Africans in these territories. The book is a compilation of information from local missionaries, magistrates, and traders, and provides an understanding of the conflicts, alliances, and cultural changes that occurred during this time. An account is given of the territory's transformation from tribal lands into a British colony, and an analysis of the policies implemented by the British government and their impact on the local population. Through a detailed look at the history, resources, and productions of the region, the author provides a better understanding of the significance of the Transkeian Territories in South African history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
