Hardcover. The Nag Hammadi Scriptures is a landmark collection, offering the most complete and authoritative translation of the sacred Gnostic texts ever compiled. Drawn from the ancient library discovered in Nag Hammadi, Egypt, this volume brings together the most significant and hidden Gnostic writings that were suppressed for centuries. These texts, filled with profound insights into the nature of the divine, the soul, and the origins of the cosmos, are foundational to Gnostic Christianity and esoteric spirituality. Within its pages, readers will encounter key Gnostic scriptures such as The Secret Book of John, The Gospel of Truth, and The Gospel of Mary. These sacred writings offer alternative teachings on the life of Jesus, the mysteries of creation, and the role of knowledge (gnosis) in salvation. They challenge orthodox Christian doctrines, advocating for personal revelation, the importance of inner wisdom, and the liberation of the soul. This revised and updated translation not only provides the most accurate text available but also offers insightful commentary to guide readers through the often complex and symbolic language of Gnostic writings. With contributions from leading scholars in the field of Gnosticism and early Christianity, this volume is essential for anyone seeking to understand the hidden teachings of the early Christian movement and the path to spiritual enlightenment.
