The first edition of Vaschenko-Zakharchenko's translation of Euclid's Elements of Geometry into Russian (including books XIV and XV but excluding books VII-IX) with extensive commentaries, additions, an introduction to non-Euclidean geometry according to Lobachevsky. The book also contains a list of printed editions of Euclid's Elements from 1482 to 1880 and a bibliography of non-Euclidean geometry up to 1880. Mikhail Vaschenko-Zakharchenko (1825 - 1912) was a mathematician who worked in Kiev. His major areas of research were the history of geometry in antiquity and non-Euclidean geometry.
