Item description from seller

The first appearances in print of what became KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL, Bourdain's first peeks behind the culinary curtain. Submitted to THE NEW YORKER by the author's mother, "Don't Eat Before Reading This" was Anthony Bourdain's first published nonfiction. After the issue hit newsstands, "he had a book deal in a matter of days" (Slotnik), and a year later, another excerpt from what had become KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL was published under the title "Hell's Kitchen." From there, the reputation of the hard-driving, hard-partying chef only grew, with a movie adaptation, more best-selling books, and a now-legendary run as a globe-trotting gourmand. 11'' x 8''. Original stapled color illustrated wrappers. 110 and 126 pages. Some toning throughout. Light edgewear and rubbing, minimal tearing around staples. Fresh and clean.
