Can you localize a lesion from the bedside and still explain the ion channel behind it?
Most neuroscience courses split the basic science from the clinic. You memorize tracts in one block, receptors in another, and then meet a patient with a brainstem stroke or a new seizure and cannot connect the two. Exam questions, ward rounds and board stems all demand that connection.
Neuroscience Principles 2027 closes that gap in 25 chapters. Each chapter runs from cellular mechanism to the clinical syndrome it produces, written by a clinician for a capable trainee.
- Neurons, glia, membrane potentials, synaptic transmission and every major neurotransmitter system
- Spinal cord, brainstem, cortex, basal ganglia, cerebellum, limbic system and cerebral circulation
- Sensory, motor, autonomic, sleep, language, memory and emotion circuits
- Stroke, epilepsy, neurodegeneration, demyelination, infection, psychiatric disease and neurotrauma
Every chapter includes Clinical Pearls, case vignettes with step-by-step reasoning, key point boxes, comparison tables, Rapid Review bullets, drug dosing tables and red-flag warnings, plus 50 original labeled clinical illustrations across the 25 chapters.
Online bonuses. Scan the QR code on the last page and enter the activation code printed in the book to unlock:
- 300 board-style practice questions in 25 chapter banks, with feedback after every answer
- 375 flashcards in 25 chapter sets
- A video course of 72 hand-picked lessons mapped to the chapters
- A 3D anatomy explorer that opens the structures described in 10 chapters
This 2027 edition is built for medical, psychology and allied health students who need one reference that teaches mechanism first and then shows how it breaks.
Add it to your cart and study the nervous system the way you will meet it in practice.
