Issued as Number 449 of Columbia University series 'Studies in History, Economics and Public Law'. 261 pp.; only flaw is internal University of Keele ex-lib marks which do not amount to much: label + small number front pastedown, two faint cancelled stamps to front endpaper, small colourless impressed stamp bottom t.p., nothing verso t.p., plus two stamps to front and bottom edge of textblock, no external marks (though close scrutiny discloses a very faint label ghost bottom spine0, top edge blue but this faded towards spine end. Black cloth covers unworn and clean, spine lettering dull. Reid was a pioneer African American sociologist at Atlanta University.
