Item description from seller

Sheet music. Wide margins, probably never bound. Very good condition, small chip at upper right takes away some of the signature of the original owner. Pages just holding. 10 pp. of music, [pp. 2-11]. Composed for piano with flute accompaniment. Adam's ballet was based on a French work of fiction after James Fenimore Cooper's The Last of the Mohicans. Dances are named after Cooper's characters, Cora, Alice, Uncas, Magua, and finally The Mohican (Le Mohican). Each dance is accompanied by steps for a quadrille. The quadrille was the forte of the composer Pierre Musard, who was immensely popular in his heyday. The piece is dedicated to Lady Augusta Somerset; in 1837 she would have been twenty-one and in the social whirl. Almack's was a popular dancing place that had been established in the 18th century; it allowed the sexes to mingle for social dancing. By the 1830s, per Wikipedia, it was somewhat run down. Sadly, history records that the dedicatee died at a young age in childbirth.
