Taking administrators, mayors, city council members and citizen groups beyond the development of performance measures for United States city government operations, this book will prepare them for the initial stages for actual performance assessment. David NAmmons presents relevant national standards developed by professional associations, and actual performance targets and performance results from a sample of city governments. The book will contribute to the design of practical performance measurement systems, the improvement of systems and the establishment of performance standards.
