About the Author: Heather Alaniz, Ph.D. is a visiting assistant professional professor of criminal justice and criminology at Sam Houston State University. She holds a Ph.D. in administration of justice from Texas Southern University. Kimberly D. Dodson, Ph.D. is an associate professor and the director of the criminology program at the University of Houston–Clear Lake. She earned a Ph.D. in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Fei Luo, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of criminal justice at Texas A&M International University. She received her Ph.D. in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University.
