The Multiage Differentiated Curriculum Kit for Grades 6-8 provides students with exciting and interesting activities and lessons about topics such as age, conflicts, propaganda, connecting math to the real world, self-image, and the power of persuasion.
The books in the Multiage Differentiated Curriculum Kits employ a differentiated, integrated curriculum based on broad themes. This all-in-one curriculum helps teachers save planning time, ensure compliance with national standards, and most importantly, pique their students' natural excitement and interest in discovery. By participating in the wide variety of activities in the Multiage Differentiated Curriculum Kit for Grades 6-8, students will discover the world around them and gain a lifelong desire to learn.
The books in this series of Multiage Differentiated Curriculum for Grades 6-8 include Ages, Conflicts, Connections, Images, and Powers. Each book contains detailed lesson plans, reproducible activity sheets, and assessment tools.
Ages allows students to explore the concepts of age, including traditional coming-of-age ceremonies, age discrimination, advertising, and measurement. Conflicts challenges students to consider discrimination, propaganda, misrepresentation of data, and war as they discover how conflict can initiate change. Connections challenges students to explore advanced mathematics through hands-on activities based on functions, patterns, geometry, and even nautical measurement. Images asks students to examine their own self-image, in addition to exploring photography, literary characters, and cultural bias. Powers provides a unique look at the topic of power, including persuasion, energy, nature, the media, and the power of choice.
Teachers and students alike will enjoy this kit of exciting multiage curriculum. Not only will these books save teachers time and ease their minds by meeting and exceeding national gifted education standards, they will challenge and expand students' minds with enjoyable hands-on activities.
