JOS� SILVA naci� en Texas en 1914 y muri� en 1999. Desde los a�os cuarenta se dedic� a la investigaci�n de la mente, sus procesos y posibilidades. Puso especial atenci�n en el cociente intelectual, los ritmos cerebrales, el biofeedback, las t�cnicas de meditaci�n y relajaci�n, la hipnosis y la parapsicolog�a. El M�todo Silva de Control Mental, producto de esas investigaciones, fue hecho p�blico en 1966, con gran repercusi�n dentro y fuera de Estados Unidos, ya que se tradujo a m�s de treinta idiomas.
