A restless horseman rides through storm-lashed English lanes, braving jeers and stones to reach the waiting faithful. In an age of rigid hierarchy and spiritual drought, one man's relentless journey sparks a movement that will reshape the soul of a nation. This sweeping biography draws readers deep into the 18th century, illuminating the extraordinary life events that forged the Methodist church origins and its enduring legacy. Through vivid accounts of tireless travels, stirring sermons, and the formation of the first Methodist societies, the narrative captures not only the public triumphs but also the private struggles, doubts, and devotion that defined an era. The story unfolds against the backdrop of turbulent religious history, revealing the intricate family background and theological convictions that fuelled a revolution in faith. For those fascinated by the history of the Methodist movement or the broader currents of 18th century religious history, this volume offers a window into a world where ideas and passion collided to ignite lasting change. The meticulous restoration of this long out-of-print work by Alpha Editions means today's readers can once again trace the footsteps of a figure whose influence rippled far beyond his time. Every page reveals the growth of the Methodist church, the shaping of Methodist theology, and the indelible mark left on countless communities-making it essential reading for anyone drawn to the roots of spiritual transformation. This edition is not just a reprint - it's a collector's item and a cultural treasure. With careful attention to historical fidelity, it has been restored for today's and future generations, offering both casual readers and classic-collection buyers an authentic and immersive experience. Whether you are captivated by the drama of Methodist church growth, the intellectual rigour of Methodist theology, or the personal journey of faith and influence, this volume stands as a testament to the enduring power of conviction and the legacy of a life lived in pursuit of a higher calling.
