This history traces the gardens back to when it was originally a "tuck mill" until the lease was taken over by Edward Walpole (1798-1878) a successful Dublin businessman who began to develop his garden, with the help of his sons.This account of Mount Usher from 1868-1952 was written by E. H. Walpole, the son of Edward Walpole (1837-1917), who enlarged the garden and built a house on the site in 1928. In the original quarter cloth binding, with paper covered boards.Externally, very smart, with light bumping to the extremities and marks to the rear board and spine. Internally, firmly bound.
