Mortality rate is a measure of the number of deaths in a population. It is generally expressed in units of deaths per 1000 individuals per year. As such, a mortality rate of 15 out of 1,000 individuals means 15 deaths per year in that entire population. In other words, the rate of 15 deaths out of 1000 suggests that there is 1.5% of the whole population who dies in a year. Learn more about the mortality rates and other rates which are related to deaths such as infant mortality, maternal deaths and case fatality rate with the help of this book. Englisch.
