Item description from seller

Schöllgen, Werner, 1893-1985. Moral Problems Today. Translated by Edward Quinn. New York: Herder and Herder, 1963, 236pp., very good dust-jacket, chipped at top of spine, worn around edges, very good yellow cloth. 14 essays by the Bonn theologian, not particularly well received by Herbert Johnston in the Review of Politics in 1963, who found his positions "sensible" but not "startling," while admiring the adoption of Max Weber's "ethics of responsibility." - "It amounts to a plea for empirical research before an attempt is made at social planning, and cites Max Weber's "ethic of responsibility" as a mean between cynicism and Utopianism."
