Moonfleet is a novel written by John Meade Falkner that tells a classic tale of smuggling with the hunt for a royal treasure mixed in. This delightful tale of adventure is set in a small village near the sea in south England and was immediately popular after its publication in 1898. John Meade Falkner was an English novelist and poet. Falkner was also a successful businessman who became the chairman of an arms manufacturer during World War I. Today Falkner is best known for his novels Moonfleet, The Lost Stradivarius, and The Nebuly Coat.
About the Author: John Meade Falkner (1858-1932) was an English novelist and poet, best known for his 1898 novel, Moonfleet. An extremely successful businessman as well, he became chairman of the arms manufacturer Armstrong Whitworth during World War I.
