Put on your spacesuit and helmet for a visit to the Moon! Children ages 3-5 will learn easy to follow facts through imaginative illustrations that bring the Moon to life and make kids want to read this book again and again. Nonfiction learning created for young learners.
The Moon is beautiful to look at in the night sky, and it also plays an important part in the cycle of life on Earth. And maybe someday the Moon will be a place people call home. I Am the Moon is a great starting point for teaching young children the basics about the Moon. Bright, colorful illustrations and facts explained in a funny and easy to follow way keep children’s attention. It’s an early learning science book that will inspire kids to read it again and again.
I Am the Moon teaches kids basic concepts of Earth and space science while also exploring how the Moon plays an important part in the cycle of life on Earth, all the way from the Moon’s impact on marine life, through high tide and low tide, to its many important interactions with nature and the environment.
Teaching preschoolers, kindergarteners, and first-graders about the Moon is a great science project for both homeschool, traditional, and Montessori school classrooms. I Am the Moon is an all about the Moon book that teaches the most basic of space concepts to the youngest children.
I Am the Moon is an excellent way to introduce children to an early learning level of Earth science, astronomy, and space science. Questions in the back encourage independent learning and deeper scientific thought, revisiting main topics found in the book. There are also many possibilities for science-based activities, ranging from creating planets with moons to exploring gravity. The Earth connection also encourages thoughts on recycling, conservation, and sustainability.
Young children will learn about basic concepts of astronomy, explaining how the Moon moves in space with Earth, to the many other moons in our solar system that act as satellites to the other planets. I Am the Moon also takes preschool and kindergarten level children on an imaginary visit to the Moon, describing in an entertaining way what astronauts do to land and explore the Moon’s surface. Large print and big, bright images make this a great book for teaching kids about the moon and for building a love of astronomy for kids ages 3-5.
Books about the Moon for kids is an excellent start to a young child’s first introduction to space science.
What would it be like to visit the Moon? Is there air to breathe? Is it easy to move on the Moon? Are people stronger or weaker? Find answers to these questions and many more. Kids will enjoy the adventure of exploring the Moon and imagining what it would be like to travel its surface, as well as imagining the possibility that one day there will be a space station where people live permanently on the Moon.
“A great Moon book for kids that makes facts fun and easy to understand.”
“My kindergarten granddaughter loved the pictures. It has a lot of good information.”
