The collection of poems, varying in form, feature fun subjects such as baseball, dragons, classroom Zooming, and friendships. An art gallery of whimsical self-portraits and "magnificent" images rounds out the anthology. Writers and artists are elementary-aged children from diverse backgrounds, including special education classrooms.

What folks are saying …⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Spectacular! I LOVED this book! The power of words from students was amazing! I want to share this book with my students! I have always been afraid to teach poetry (I always struggled with poetry as a student myself), but this is a great mentor text! The illustrations were fabulous too!”
—Jennifer Wilcox, Reading Interventionist
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“I am Monster Magnificent: A Collection of Student Poems and Artwork is a heartwarming and uplifting book that will cause young readers to truly appreciate the things that are unique about themselves. The collection of poetry compiled by Raven Howell and illustrated by Sarah Gledhill focuses on children detailing their strengths and the things that make them individually MAGNIFICENT.
In a time when bullying abounds, this book will be a useful antidote in helping children realize that even those things that might be different about them are things they should cherish. Bravo to the young poets who put this beauty into the world!”
— Deborah Edmisten, Author
⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Delightful collection of poems and drawings celebrating who each child is. Readers will relate to the emotions and personalities and identify ways they connect with each person's poem. These students were vulnerable and open when sharing about themselves. Kudos to them!
The information provided by Howell at the end serves as a springboard for others to create their own poems and artwork.”
— Pam Gombert, Librarian on Goodreads
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “‘Magnificent’ truly summarizes how wonderful and uplifting this collection of poems is. The positivity and resilience from these 7- to 12-year-olds is simply inspirational and heartwarming. I am so proud of them!”
— Cynthia Kern OBrien, Award-winning Author and Publisher
“Budding poets here! These magnificent kids tell us who they are from that place where their inner and outer worlds meet—the seat of the imagination.”
— Brian Gene Olson, Children’s Poet and Songwriter:
”As an appreciator of poetry, I found the works in this collection as promised, magnificent! In my day, we often kept books on our coffee tables. They were light reading meant to fill in quiet moments with thought and interest. This collection of poetry written by our amazing youth gives us quiet moments to think, and see our future develop. It is not only filled with awareness and creativity, but hope and inspiration as we peek into the minds and hearts of our future generation on the rise! A perfect book for any coffee table ... and perfect for continual perusing!”
— Darleen Wohlfeil, Story Monsters Ink
