The Monk Who Made Everyone Smile!. This item is unavailable. The Monk Who Made Everyone Smile!

Brother John was a monk whose warm heart and joyful spirit touched everyone he met. Though he grew up racing cars, playing violin in his local orchestra, and getting into the sort of mischief young men sometimes do, his life changed when he dedicated himself to God. His path wasn't easy. Silence in the monastery was strict, the work was demanding, and he struggled to settle in. Yet through perseverance, prayer, and a genuine love for people, Brother John slowly became a source of peace and encouragement to others.

Children will delight in the humorous stories of Brother John speeding around in old cars, helping monks with broken machines, and gently caring for elderly friends. They'll smile at the sign language jokes he shared in the hospital and laugh at his quick wit. Most of all, they'll see how a life shaped by God's love can overflow into kindness for everyone.

With charming storytelling by Isaac Slater and delightfully expressive illustrations by Christopher Tupa, Brother John is a tender, uplifting book for children and families. It celebrates prayer, compassion, humor, and the simple joy of making others smile. A wonderful read-aloud for classrooms, homes, and church communities.
