MIssing DJ if issued, lightly sunned spine, minor cover grime, corners lightly bumped, some foxing to endpapers and edges of reading block. ; Decorated blue cloth boards, presentation plate to inside front cover from Parkwood UMC Sunday School Longwood, Huddersfield presented to Frank Smith for punctual attendance on 17th February 1917. Book undated but thought to be a 1915 printing. ; B&W Illustrations; 280 pages; A classic school story with four illustrations that originally appeared as a serial in Cassell's weekly newspaper for boys, Chums. When published in book form in 1906 was dedicated by the author to his son, Roland Aubrey Leighton, who was killed on the Western Front in December 1915 when aged 20, and later immortalised in Vera Brittain's memoir, Testament of Youth.
