Family money is rarely just about numbers.
Behind every mortgage payment, grocery bill, savings goal and expensive purchase are decisions about priorities, fairness, security and the future. When several people share a household, those decisions become even more complicated. Who pays for what? How should couples handle different incomes? How much should be saved? When is debt becoming a family problem? How do parents teach children about money without making them anxious about it?
Money at the Kitchen Table is a practical guide to managing the financial decisions families make together. It explores household budgeting, everyday spending, emergency funds, debt, major purchases, housing, children, insurance, changing income, retirement planning and financial support across generations.
Rather than prescribing one perfect budget, the book shows how families can build a system that fits their own circumstances, communicate more clearly about money and make deliberate choices about what their income needs to accomplish.
Because good household finance is not about counting every penny. It is about deciding, together, what matters enough to fund.
