Paperback. Mom, Interrupted: A Young Family Faces Cancer is a dramatic, true account of a real family's journey through discovery, diagnosis, and treatment that, because of its accelerating twists and surprises, reads like a thriller. Built around original e-mail updates sent to concerned family and friends, the story unfolds and gains speed with each new medical discovery and new challenge thrust upon "Mom." Sprinkled throughout the narrative are flashbacks and anecdotes revealing, sometimes hilariously, sometimes tenderly, the strengths, character, and unique abilities of a mother devoted to raising nine children--a "Mom, Interrupted" in the middle of her chosen career. It's a story about cancer and cancer treatment, but also a story about wives, husbands, and families, and the love and devotion that holds them together through times of great trial. This heart-wrenching chronicle will resonate with anyone who cares about the challenges facing families today, whatever form those challenges may take. An author's loving tribute to one tough mother who bore his nine children, nurtured them, loved them, and unknowingly prepared them for her own demise, Mom, Interrupted will grip you, touch you, and inspire you.
