Print on Demand. This book is an exploration of two views that challenge the traditional teaching of eternal punishment in hell: negative universalism and positive universalism. Negative universalism argues that the wicked will be punished for a limited time, while positive universalism argues for the ultimate salvation of all people, even those who have persistently rejected God. Drawing upon biblical exegesis, the author, a minister who has received both scholarly and pastoral training, subjects these theories to rigorous examination. Continued enquiry on his part, and the further development of Rationalistic principles by others, in this direction, finally led him to think, not of a pamphlet, but Of a book; and the dimensions of the same, have, by the same cause, been further enlarged.
