Very good minus, 3rd edition book, no dust jacket. Appears to have been professionally repaired by a previous owner, as to boards, spine edges and gutters. Cloth covered boards, may have been gray. Charming black-stamped illustration of the car, circa 1914 on the front panel with light gray lettering. Page edges are soil and age-darkened. Clearly a much-utilized reference book, boards are heavily soiled overall, likely car-related grease. Spine is heavily sunned and stained and illegible. Many illustrations including a many paneled fold-out of a "Chart showing Action of Selective Sliding Gears." Pencilled writing on the end papers as well as a newspaper clipping attached to the back paste-down. Occasional smudges on the text pages, which are age-tone, but internally clean overall. 789 pages of text, an additional 25 pages of index, 29 pages of ads for "Books for Home Study, Practical, Scientific, Technical" and an additional 5 pages of misc. ads. In spite of its' weight, the text block is sound. A very interesting reference time-capsule. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition description. Additional photos available at your request. International sales to all countries other than the UK will require use of an alternative shipping company which will result in higher shipping expense. A signature upon receipt may also be required.…
