Print on Demand. This book explores a series of interconnected historical events beginning in Egypt and ending in Italy, corresponding with the life and mission of Jesus. The author draws upon archaeological and scientific discoveries, modern travelogues, and biblical expertise to corroborate and illuminate the historical settings of the New Testament with the aim of enriching our understanding of Christianity's origins and evolution. The author argues that our faith is more meaningful and relevant when grounded in the cultural and physical realities of its origins. By tracing the path from Egypt to Italy, he highlights the growth of apostolic Christianity and the Eastern Christian Churches, concluding with a discussion on Rome, where the story culminates and explores the tension between earthly and divine power. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

IT should be explained that the following Addresses are the reprint, almost verbatim, of Lectures delivered week by week to a mixed and fluctuating congrega tion of visitors and residents in a Northern watering place. Prepared without any view to their perma nent publication, in such scanty leisure as could be found in the pressure of ordinary parish work, they were printed each week by two local newspapers and even in their present less ephemeral form are nothing more, in style and substance, than a repro duction of what they were originally intended to be. This will, it is hoped, explain, and in part excuse, certain peculiarities of style and composition, largely due to their local and rhetorical colouring, of which the writer is very sensible.
