"But a lawyer is a generalist who becomes a specialist at the behest of a client. This necessarily means that an attorney must be familiar with the popular, technical, and slang terms and concepts of the particular field in which the client seeks advice. In addition to members of the Bar, we hope to serve others in the legal profession, including judges, professors, students, paralegals and legal secretaries, in the publication of this reference work.Emphasis is placed on modern terminology rather than on purely historical concepts. Certain legal terms are occasionally included when they relate to other fields such as law enforcement or business." This book has 802 pages.
