Android development has evolved rapidly, and Kotlin is now the industry-standard language for building fast, safe, and expressive mobile apps. With Jetpack Compose revolutionizing UI development and tools like Hilt, Room, Retrofit, and Firebase streamlining architecture, now is the best time to master the modern Android ecosystem. Whether you're targeting phones, tablets, or foldables, modern Android development practices empower developers to build clean, scalable, and responsive mobile experiences.
Written by an experienced Android developer and educator, this book combines hands-on techniques, professional insights, and up-to-date documentation that align with industry best practices. You'll learn not only how to build apps—but also why each tool and pattern matters in real-world mobile development. All content is based on current Android Studio versions, the latest Jetpack libraries, and proven architectural principles used in production apps worldwide.
