Item description from seller

[9], 78 p.; 22 cm. (Zenos lectures ; 1966) Contents: Introduction, by Harry McClatchey --I A new perspective on the doctrine of the Spirit: models for activity -- II The model of economy -- III The model of presence -- IV The use of these models in Christian discourse -- V Pathways to theological atheism? -- Bibliography of the published works of Ian T. Ramsey -- Index -- From the introduction: `It had been hoped to transcribe the lectures from tape-recordings made at the time but, in the event, this did not prove possible. Mrs Shaw, Professor Ramsey's secretary in Oxford, was, however, able to produce a typescript from the original longhand notes. Parts of the lectures were used and reused in discussions with students and clergy, in the years following the move from the Nolloth Professorship at Oxford to the See of Durham. Bishop Ramsey went on hoping that the lectures would soon be published but, at the time of his death in October 1972, he had neither finished worrying at the wording nor revised the text to his satisfaction. The lectures are, therefore, published in a form which many may find tantalizing. It is, however, to be hoped that both the questions and the way in which they are handled here will provoke and stimulate further discussion, and it may be that even the unrevised obscurities contribute to this.'
