New and revised edition, 93rd printing, 12mo, pp. xxiv, 1687, [1]; original full black cloth; upper board wormed with a hole penetrating the first few dozen pages, paper toned and brittle but clean and sound; very good. From the preface: "The distinctive feature of this dictionary is that it aims 'to kill two birds with one stone': it is a dictionary in which, in addition to the usual information found in ordinary dictionaries, there are appended to almost every word a number of phrases and sentences showing at a glance how the word may be correctly used in its various special senses." A successful project, considering the print run, though not many copies are recorded institutionally and none from this printing.
