The Arion Press originally published this version of Melville's classic accompanied by Barry Moser's spectacular line drawings as a small limited edition. The University of California Press later published this trade edition, still a beautiful book and with the same illustrations and text. Scarce in hardcover. A large, heavy book bound in blue cloth. The book has light wear at lower corners, minimal wear at spine extremities, and a small spot of soiling on bottom of text block, otherwise fine. The dust jacket has some light edgewear and a small chip at head of spine reinforced with archival tissue. Still a very nice looking jacket, bright and clean. Price clipped. It's not often I pick up a book and think "this is something really special", but this is one of them. Seller Inventory # 000782
