First edition thus, limited to 1,000 copies. Three volumes in publisher's acetate jackets and aluminum slipcase. Near Fine with minor sunning to panels and light bruising at spine ends. Trivial staining to spine panel of volume two with slight staining to top edges. Silver stamping is stunning and bright. Light offsetting from plates throughout each volume. In Poor acetate jackets that are shrunken, yellowed and chipped with large areas of loss and spines mostly perished. Aluminum case is bright with light rubbing and wear. A simply stunning set and a crowning achievement of Machine Age book design, whose publication helped to propel Moby Dick out from semi-obscurity into its current fame as perhaps the quintessential American novel.
