Print on Demand. This book presents an argument that the church in the United States should prioritize its mission domestically, rather than focusing its efforts on overseas evangelical work. The author argues that the United States faces a profound spiritual crisis, and that the church must address this crisis before it can effectively evangelize abroad. The author supports this argument by pointing to the vast social and economic inequality in the United States, the widespread moral decay, and the growing secularization of American society. The author argues that the church must work to address these problems before it can hope to make a significant impact on the world. Doing so requires rethinking the very nature of salvation and defining it not as a mere profession of faith, but as an ongoing process of social and spiritual transformation. This book offers a critical perspective on traditional approaches to missions and provides a fresh approach to understanding the church's role in the world. It is essential reading for anyone interested in the future of Christianity in the United States. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Missions Striking Home collects a group of addresses on the missionary enterprise, urging a bold, spiritually vigorous gospel to meet a prosperous age. It speaks to readers who care about how faith, culture, and national purpose intersect in mission work.
The pages argue that home missions are not just about sending help at home, but about preparing a people for global concerns. It challenges readers to consider how prosperity tests faith and calls for a gospel strong enough to redeem both material abundance and social need. The discussion blends theology with practical questions about priorities, leadership, and the role of American generosity on the world stage.
- Explore how prosperity shapes religious enthusiasm and how a robust gospel can stand the test of wealth.
- Learn about the challenges of missionary work in places like Alaska and other well-off regions.
- Consider the balance between material comfort and spiritual responsibility in modern society.
- Discover a historical perspective on national identity, faith, and global mission effort.
Ideal for readers of religious history and those interested in the shaping of mission work within a prosperous nation.
E pluribus unum is stamped upon many of our coins and national emblems. It is wholesome that we remind ourselves that the American people are many and potent. It is equally important to observe that they are one in the economy of grace, that they are wrapped in the one spiritual bundle.
