Edited by Baron Stow, Gould, Kendall and Lincoln, Boston, 1846, 308 pp plus publisher s list, original cloth, 8 x 5.75 , 8vo. In good condition. Light wear to extremities with minor scuffing along edges and corners. Spine ends slightly crushed with light darkening of cloth along spine. Modest soiling overall to surface of cloth. Old hand ownership belonging to Middlebury Library dated June, 1857 from H. Hooker, D.D. Philadelphia. A blind stamp of Valentin H. Rabe dated 11/1983 on fly. Rabe (1930-2008) was Professor Emeritus History at SUNY Genesco specializing in Religious Missionaries. Internally good and bright with light toning, minor foxing. Free of known marginalia. Binding remains intact. Please see photos. Baron Stow (1801-1869) was a Boston Baptist minister, writer and editor, who in 1843 with Samuel Francis Smith compiled a Baptist hymnal entitled: The Psalmist, which for the next thirty years was the most widely used Baptist Hymnal in the United States.
