The one and only official hardcover coffee table book that chronicles and celebrates the Astros historic season in its entirety, from Opening Day all the way through the joyous victory parade.
It ended as it started. On Opening Day, George Springer launched a leadoff home run to start the scoring for the Astros 2017 season. In Game 7 of the World Series, Springer whacked another ball out of the park that ended not only Houston's scoring for the season but also 56 years of waiting for Astros fans.
The road from April 3 to November 1 was anything but smooth. At one point, injuries claimed the Astros entire starting rotation. All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa missed half of July and all of August. And then came Hurricane Harvey.
But when the going got tough, Houston proved true the adage and the Astros got going. At the trade deadline, Houston acquired marquee pitcher Justin Verlander and added outfielder Cameron Maybin. Up 12-1/2 games in the division when they returned to Minute Maid Park on September 2, Houston went 21-8 the rest of the way, won 101 games one shy of the franchise record and ran away with the AL West title.
In the ALDS, Houston dispatched the Red Sox, then in the ALCS, the Astros vanquished the Yankees. What followed was a World Series for the ages until Game 7, when the Astros grabbed the lead from the Dodgers in the top of the first inning and never looked back.
Herein is the inspiring story of the Houston Astros championship season, shown and told with exclusive images and original stories in a one-of-a-kind commemorative book that is sure to delight fans for generations to come.
GENUINE OFFICIAL MERCHANDISE OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL.
