213 pages with a folding hand-coloured frontispiece and a few vignette woodcut tail pieces. half calf with later dark green morocco spine, some light marks in gutters from archival tape used when doing the spine, several small old inscriptions to inside front board from 1878-1933, contents very good and it is the 2nd edition "enlarged". Originally 1806. 12 mo. Rare. *Only 4 copies located in the UK and only 2 the 2nd edition, but none of the copies listed make mention of the hand coloured plate? the 1st edition was 176 pages only and no colour plate. the author remains tantalizingly anonymous. Not mentioned in Halkett and Laing "Pseudonymous and Anonymous literature" either. ** Contains observations of importance when sojourning this mortal coil. Example; Breaking your spectacles a considerable distance from any town Or, Moistening the only wafer in the house so long in your mouth that upon taking it out you find it like a bit of rotten pear, or, passing a narrow passage, fresh painted, etc. Other similar asides for the long lock down evenings to peruse and enjoy.
