Item description from seller

Oblong large 4to album, circa 1950s, containing eight original watercolour sketches, six of which have titles attributing the work to W. Jeffrey Cook, for Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd. Various sizes but typically 280 x 190 mm. Highly finished drawing depicting mid-nineteenth century scenes, for instance one titled, " Regent Street Looking North During Demolition of the Colonnade, London. For Messrs. Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd London, 1956. " First State Sketch" . Highly competent drawings, we can trace no record of this artist, but would surmise he was working mid-century freelance for the publisher Raphael Tuck. Drawings are of Covent Garden Market; The Strand; Regent Street; Regent Street Looking North; Queen's Theatre, Pall Mall; Northumberland House, Charing Cross; etc. Original hessian backed printed boards.
