Lawrence's biographer, bearing his bookplate on the front paste-down, his catalogue numeration (#199c), and his profuse pencil notes (particularly to the index) throughout, possibly in preparation for a second printing or edition. This copy is the First American Edition, edited by Jeremy Wilson and with a Preface by the Poet Laureate, Cecil Day Lewis. Publisher's green cloth with blue lettering to the spine and deep blue endpapers. Octavo. pp. [1-6] 7-272. A book in Very Good condition in a Very Good dust-jacket with crease to front panel, but which is not price-clipped (showing $10) Wilson's note to the front free endpaper, states that this edition is a 'facsimile reprint from English sheets,with new acknowledgment section p4'.
