Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. This book is in Very Good condition and has a Very Good dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some light bumping and rubbing. There are patches of fading to the spine and top front edge of the book cover. There are occasional spots of foxing to the book covers as well. The text pages are clean and bright. There is foxing to the endpapers. The dust jacket has spots of foxing, and toning, along with a small semi-closed tear to the top front panel, and spots of foxing and ground-in dirt to the rear cover. "Cyril Edwin Mitchinson Joad (12 August 1891 9 April 1953) was an English philosopher, author, teacher and broadcasting personality. He appeared on The Brains Trust, a BBC Radio wartime discussion programme. He popularised philosophy and became a celebrity, before his downfall in a scandal over an unpaid train fare in 1948.
