Transform your life to change the world around you
Elon Musk is one of the few individuals in the world today who has made bold, optimistic predictions about the future and then gone on to actually execute towards them. We admire him because he is sincere, takes big bets and works extremely hard. He is revered mainly because at some level we all feel that there is at least a little bit of Elon’s ability within each of us waiting to be unleashed. It is very difficult for high achievers to articulate their thought process, instincts and mental processes for achievement. Elon has tried to elaborate on his thinking process through concepts like First Principles but there is far more at work in his mind that allows him to be as disciplined and creative as he is in whatever he applies himself to. The idea, if you want to be like Musk, is to be extraordinary: you simply have to be. This book is an excellent starting point for you. Tony Robbins is one among many successful people and self-help gurus to advocate modeling the best to be successful. Modeling is also a common tactic used by Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) practitioners to achieve outcomes by studying how someone else goes about it. Elon Musk makes an excellent living model for anyone wanting to achieve a specific vision. There are many reasons to read Mind of Musk. Perhaps you have thought about your own life’s purpose and are looking for that one push that will send you down a path of incredible success. Many people naturally gravitate towards the vision that Elon wants to actualize. Others want to improve their creativity and get more out of life. Looking at the mechanisms behind Elon’s ideation, creativity and approach to handling adverse situations is one way to catalyze your own progress. Mind of Musk’s author Dylan Johnson has gone beyond Elon’s biography, spent countless hours observing him in interviews, reading articles about Elon and applying his experience as a life coach to figure out the authentic factors that make Elon successful at whatever journey he decides to undertake. Dylan has distilled these insights into one crisp book. Recreating Elon’s Excellence Peter Thiel has said that “The next Bill Gates will not start an operating system. The next Larry Page won’t start a search engine. The next Mark Zuckerberg won’t start a social network company. If you are copying these people, you are not learning from them.” The next Elon Musk won’t start an electric vehicle company or an aerospace manufacturer but we may learn the meta-personality traits that lead one to achieve similar levels of success in a different field. If you apply yourself with a similar work ethic and mental techniques to channel creativity to a large problem, you will likely arrive at creative solutions addressing that problem. Mind of Musk delves into techniques that will inspire creativity and provoke innovative thought processes within you. Contents include:- Events that shaped Elon’s thinking
- Techniques to improve your work ethic
- Finding your passion
- Elon Musk’s weaknesses
- Futurism & futurist thinking
- Open-source thinking
